研究方向

  • 長效型人工唾液配方的研究開發和驗證:口腔不僅維持人體基本生理需求的咀嚼進食,口腔健康更是備受重視,因其會影響言語,吞嚥,消化等功能。因此對於唾液量減少的口乾症患者來說,會遇到齟齒、難以吞嚥和說話困難等問題。其中最難忍受的為吞嚥,因不管是否正在進食,都有吞嚥口水的反射動作。當唾液量少導致無法發揮潤滑的效果,病患口腔器官間的摩擦增加則會造成不舒適,甚至疼痛。目前對於口乾症的治療方式之一為使用人工唾液濕潤口腔,雖能短暫改善口乾症狀,但只有數小時,且需要時常補充,增加使用者的不便利性。因此為了讓口乾症病患在使用人工唾液時,能延長濕潤時間,減少使用頻率,改善現有人工唾液無法滿足的臨床需求,將利用多醣類來研究開發出長效型的人工唾液,研究著重在多醣類人工唾液之配方設計(溶液、凝膠或噴霧劑型)、物化特性研究、與唾液蛋白質間的相互作用、以及與仿生口腔體外功能評估。
  • 生醫材料醫療器材功能驗證和開發策略研究:生醫材料醫療器材從研發到上市,若不需臨床試驗驗證,其生命週期已需耗時3-5年,但若需執行臨床試驗,研發時間將更長,且須投入龐大資金。因此,必須自開發初期即規劃完善且嚴謹的商品化策略與流程布局。除此之外,生醫材料醫療器材種類繁多,臨床前功能驗證不見得有國際標準法規制定的測試方法,故依據產品的特性建立有效之體外功能測試方法為生醫材料醫材開發策略中之關鍵步驟。此研究將會分為兩大部分:第一部分為針對水凝膠和噴霧溶液的生醫材料,建立水凝膠的體外附著性質測試方法、以及噴霧溶液的粒子尺寸分布驗證方法;第二部分則會依據產學合作的廠商需求,透過競品研究、專利資訊、市場分析、發表文獻的不同面向,協助制定生醫材料醫材的開發途徑策略。
